Surgicryl Rapid, rapidly absorbable suture material
Surgicryl Rapid is a very rapidly absorbed surgical coated material that provides excellent tissue support. The coated suture material only causes minimum tissue reaction and has excellent handling properties. Surgicryl Rapid is available as a needle-and-thread combination in a range of different options.

- Rapidly absorbable suture material
- Needle-and-thread combinations, individually sterile packed
- Composition: Polyglycolic acid
- Coating: Polycaprolactone and calcium stearate (1%)
- Colour: Beige – undyed
- Minimal tissue reaction
- Length: 75cm
- Absorption by hydrolysis
- Completely absorbed after approximately 42 days
- Still approximately 50% of tensile strength remains after 7 days
- Box with 12 needle-and-thread combinations
The absorbable suture material Surgicryl Rapid is suitable for wounds that require support for less than 7 days. Caution is required in patients with delayed wound healing.
Applications of Surgicryl Rapid
Superficial soft tissue adaptations skin and mucosa, especially in plastic surgery, obstetrics (episiotomy), gynaecology, urology (circumcision), ophthalmic surgery (conjunctiva) and paediatric surgery.
