Kern OBL 146 Phase Contrast Microscope
The OBL 146 core phase contrast microscope is used for high-contrast imaging of transparent and unstained specimens, such as living cells. It enables the imaging of cell structures based on their different densities. Structures with higher density, such as the cell nucleus, are shown darker than structures with lower density, such as plasma.
The microscope’s bright and continuously adjustable 20 W halogen illumination ensures optimal lighting conditions. In addition, the fixed pre-centred phase contrast condenser with aperture diaphragm and the light field diaphragm allow simplified Koehler illumination and thus ideal display of the specimen. Two slides can be clamped simultaneously on the stage and quickly focused by means of the coaxial coarse and fine focusing knobs.
To set the appropriate magnification, the phase contrast microscope is equipped with a revolving unit with 4 high-quality lenses with a magnification of 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x. The phase contrast microscope is suitable for use in various specialist areas, such as haematology, urology, dermatology, gynaecology, microbiology or immunology.
